Our Mission & Vision
General Directorate of Trade Promotion
General Directorate of Trade Promotion acts as a headquarter of Ministry of Commerce with duties and responsibilities as following:
Assist famers and traders in finding market
Research and develop market
Prepare and take part in both local and international trade fair including making recommendation and encouragement to producers and traders to attend in international trade fairs
Coordinate, encourage, control and issue license to domestic companies, foreign companies and other departments for both domestic and international trade fair arrangement
Responsible for working in Bureau of International Exposition (BIE) and work as Secretariat of Cambodian Inter-Ministerial Committee in order to prepare for the participation of the World Expo.
Organize strategic plan to find a target market, research and analyze, construct marketing policy, and boost exports.
Organize and accept both domestic trade mission and international trade mission with the purpose of creating Trade Co-operation Forum, or Trade Discussion, for both domestic and international trade by collaborating with Domestic Trade General Directorate.
Research and analyze the trading activities in Cambodia, and initiate policy formulation for government.
Cooperate with trade promotion partners and both domestic and international trade promotions centers which include ASEAN-Japan Center, ASEAN-China Center, and ASEAN-Korea Center etc.
Organize and administer seminars, conferences, trade forum, and trade promotion meeting in order to establish trading partners.
Participate in formulating and implementing the policy of agricultural products for domestic and export market.
Participate in the development of enterprises both small scale and medium scale with stakeholders.
Research on new products and product development which is potential for both domestic and export market.
Act as an advisor and consultant on trade and marketing affairs.
Advertise information concerning marketing and trade promotion.
Advertise and build international market relation through commercial representatives.
Manage trade promotion center both domestic and international.
Organize and manage Trade Promotion website.
Fulfill other duties assigned by the ministry.
General Directorate of Trade Promotion is divided into 3 departments:
Department of Exhibition Affairs
Department of Market Development
Department of Trade Policy
And Commercial Representatives (counselors and commercial attaché) stationed in overseas.
Role of three main departments and subordinate
Department of Exhibition Affairs acts as a headquarter of Trade Promotion General Directorate on the exhibition affairs.
Department of Market Development acts as a headquarter of Trade Promotion General Directorate on the market development.
Department of Trade Policy acts as a headquarter of Trade Promotion General Directorate on implementation, improvement and development of trade policy
Overseas Commercial Representatives is in charge of communicating, promoting and providing information related to economic and trade activities of prominent trading partners with Cambodia accompanied by Cambodian ambassadors.
